 Captain Paul is the owner and lead expedition guide of Supernova Expeditions, bringing a lifetime of experience as a mariner, scuba diver, commercial pilot, entrepreneur, and global adventurer to every journey. A licensed U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain, Paul holds a 100-ton credential with towing and radio operator endorsements and has safely logged thousands of nautical miles throughout the Pacific Northwest, Canada, and beyond.  Paul is often accompanied by his wife Nova who inspired the name for Supernova Expeditions. Nova is a highly competent First mate, cook and always brings a relentless and contagious positive attitude to any sort of trip.

Before launching Supernova Expeditions, Paul spent decades building and leading innovative companies. With 12 startup ventures under his belt and a background in aviation as a commercial instrument-rated pilot with over 3,000 flight hours and two world aviation records, Paul brings the same precision, leadership, and passion for exploration to his life at sea.

Paul chose Supernova—his custom 78’ adventure motor yacht—to reflect a spirit of purpose and possibility. Whether leading scuba diving expeditions, remote wilderness retreats, or training new mariners, Captain Paul blends technical expertise with a deep love of nature and storytelling. His goal is to help guests reconnect with the natural world, challenge their limits, and create lasting memories through purposeful travel.
